About The Work
Address documentation debt by fixing issues and incorporating feedback while contributing to new feature documentation. Collaborate with SMEs and cross-functional teams to create, update, and maintain user-focused technical documentation for ServiceNow product features.
Key Responsibilities:
- Resolve documentation debt items and close feedback-driven issues with minimal supervision
- Document new product features and functionality, working from design specs, API documentation, and product demos
- Collaborate effectively with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to validate technical accuracy and gather information
- Create and maintain comprehensive user-focused documentation following ServiceNow's DITA-based information model and style standards
- Work independently with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Product Management, Design, Research) to ensure documentation quality and completeness
- Proactively identify documentation gaps and recommend improvements to existing content
- Adapt quickly to changing priorities and manage multiple concurrent documentation projects in a fast-paced, globally distributed environment
Required Qualifications:
- 4-5 years of professional technical writing experience in software/technology industry
- Advanced proficiency in DITA, Markdown, or similar structured authoring architectures
- Strong English language skills with demonstrated expertise in technical communication
- Robust portfolio showcasing complex technical documentation, including API docs, user guides, or procedural content
- Proven experience documenting software features throughout the development lifecycle
- Strong ability to interpret technical specifications and translate them into user-centric documentation
- Demonstrated success working independently with SMEs to extract and validate technical information
- Experience managing documentation projects from planning through publication with minimal oversight
