About The Work

The AI Learning Strategy Development Specialist provides dedicated individual contributor capacity to translate LSI’s AI-first learning direction into structured, partner-ready strategy documents, frameworks, and evidence-based artifacts.

LSI sets the direction for AI-first learning across Global Learning & Development. The team is intentionally lean and senior, with leadership capacity focused on direction-setting, stakeholder alignment, and cross-functional engagement. This role adds the strategy development capacity needed to turn strategic intent into documented plans, frameworks, requirements, and decision-ready materials.

The primary focus is the Ambient Assessment strategy: advancing the work from the current vision brief into a partner-ready strategy package covering signal architecture, phased rollout, data design, validation criteria, and partner engagement requirements. Secondary contributions include GLD Learning Strategy pillar documentation, the agentic content pipeline blueprint, and SNUx supporting artifacts.

Success means LSI’s highest-priority AI learning strategies are advanced from concept to structured, defensible, partner-ready materials within the H2 engagement period. This is not a people management or delivery ownership role; it is focused on strategy development, synthesis, and artifact production.

Core responsibilities

1. Advance the Ambient Assessment strategy

  • Translate the current Ambient Assessment vision brief into a structured, partner-ready strategy package
  • Document the signal architecture, signal validation criteria, and data design
  • Develop a phased rollout plan with clear gates, dependencies, decision points, and success criteria
  • Define the requirements needed to engage a strategic validation partner
  • Maintain alignment with Talent Signature, the broader skills taxonomy, and the GLD Learning Strategy

2. Develop GLD Learning Strategy pillar documentation

  • Draft, structure, and evidence-base content for one or more strategy pillars: What we build, Who we develop, What we offer, and How we power it
  • Translate senior strategic direction into structured pillar documentation
  • Create supporting evidence, including frameworks, decision trees, taxonomies, and operating standards
  • Maintain coherence and cross-references across pillars

3. Shape the agentic content pipeline blueprint

  • Define the blueprint for an AI and agentic content generation and transformation pipeline, from intake to publish
  • Document design principles, governance, quality criteria, handoff standards, and review checkpoints
  • Translate senior direction into a review-ready blueprint that partner delivery teams can act on

4. Develop SNUx artifacts and supporting evidence

  • Develop SNUx artifacts that articulate the future-state learning vision — learner-centred, AI-native, enterprise-ready
  • Document the evidence base behind SNUx hypotheses through POCs, prototypes, and learner research
  • Maintain SNUx as a living body of work, not a static deck

5. Translate senior direction into finished strategy artifacts

  • Take strategic direction from senior LSI leadership and independently produce finished, review-ready deliverables
  • Operate in a high-ambiguity, fast-moving environment where strategy is being defined and documented in real time
  • Maintain LSI’s evidence-led, learner-first, AI-enabled standards in everything produced

Success metrics

  • Ambient Assessment strategy package completed for partner review, including signal architecture, validation criteria, phased rollout, and data design
  • Agentic content pipeline blueprint drafted, structured, and ready for senior review
  • At least one GLD Learning Strategy pillar advanced into structured, evidence-based documentation
  • SNUx artifacts and supporting evidence moved from concept-level inputs to an organized, documented body of work
  • Senior LSI capacity redirected from artifact production to direction-setting, stakeholder alignment, and decision-making

Core skills

  • Strategic learning design: Ability to translate enterprise learning priorities into structured strategies, frameworks, and decision-ready artifacts
  • AI-enabled learning fluency: Working understanding of AI-native learning models, personalization, adaptive pathways, agentic workflows, and emerging learning technologies
  • Assessment and skills measurement: Ability to define signals, validation criteria, success measures, and evidence models for skills-based learning and ambient assessment
  • Systems thinking: Ability to connect learning science, AI capabilities, data design, governance, operational realities, and business outcomes
  • Strategic writing and synthesis: Strong ability to distill complex inputs into clear, structured, executive-ready documents and partner-facing materials
  • Stakeholder alignment: Ability to incorporate senior direction, partner requirements, and cross-functional input while maintaining strategic coherence
  • Independent execution: Comfortable operating with ambiguity, limited supervision, and evolving direction in a fast-moving strategy environment

Preferred qualifications

  • 5–7 years of experience in learning strategy, learning experience design, instructional design, or a closely related strategic learning role
  • Demonstrated experience building strategy documents, frameworks, or methodologies independently — not just contributing to them
  • Strong grounding in learning science, skills measurement, assessment design, or AI-enabled learning strategy
  • Familiarity with AI-enabled learning concepts such as adaptive learning, signal-based assessment, intelligent tutoring, and personalized learning paths
  • Excellent written communication: can produce structured, defensible strategy documents that hold up to senior and partner scrutiny
  • Strong systems thinking: can see connections between learning science, AI capabilities, operational constraints, and business outcomes
  • Self-directed and comfortable with ambiguity in a newly defined, fast-evolving strategy space
  • Comfortable taking senior direction and turning it into finished work without close supervision or people management authority

What makes this role unique

This is not a traditional instructional design role, program management role, or delivery ownership role. It sits between senior strategy direction and downstream execution: the development layer that turns AI learning strategy into structured, usable, partner-ready materials.

You will operate at the intersection of:

  • Learning strategy: translating strategic direction into structured documentation, frameworks, and decision-ready materials
  • Ambient assessment and skills validation: shaping how skills can be measured through real work signals at enterprise scale
  • AI-native learning: documenting what AI enables for scalable, personalized, evidence-led learning experiences
  • Strategic writing and synthesis: producing materials that can support leadership alignment, partner engagement, and execution planning
  • Bachelor’s degree in learning and development, instructional design, education, organizational psychology, human resources, business, data science, or a related field preferred
  • Advanced degree or graduate-level coursework in learning science, assessment, AI, organizational development, or a related discipline is a plus
  • Equivalent practical experience developing learning strategy, assessment frameworks, AI-enabled learning solutions, or enterprise capability-building artifacts will also be considered
