What you will do in this role:
- Contribute to active DTXD design initiatives across the portfolio — including experience design, workflow design, and systems-level UX — as a fully participating designer, not a narrow specialist.
- Partner with designers early in the design process to integrate accessibility requirements upstream, shifting the team's practice from late-stage review toward proactive, defensible design decisions.
- Create and maintain accessibility annotations, design guidelines, and component-level a11y documentation that teams can use independently and consistently.
- Review design deliverables for WCAG 2.1/2.2 AA conformance, providing clear, actionable feedback designers can act on without requiring a separate specialist.
- Contribute design-side input to the broader accessibility program and governance work, helping translate program requirements into practical design patterns and standards.
- Support the development and maintenance of accessible component libraries and design system documentation aligned to enterprise and DT-specific standards.
- Contribute to accessibility audits and defect remediation work as a foundational part of the team's practice — this work is shared across all roles on the team regardless of primary focus, and provides the real-world grounding that informs design-side contributions.
- Serve as an embedded accessibility design resource for the DTXD team — helping build capability across the team through collaboration, documentation, and shared tooling rather than dependency on a single point of review.
What you will need to be successful in this role:
- Strong, demonstrable UX/product design skills across the full design process — research synthesis, interaction design, prototyping, and handoff — this is the primary qualification for this role
- Meaningful accessibility expertise: working knowledge of WCAG 2.1 and 2.2, ARIA authoring patterns, and accessible component design across web and enterprise platforms
- Experience with accessibility annotation workflows and a11y-informed design practice; ability to create documentation that engineering teams can act on directly
- Proficiency in Figma; familiarity with accessibility-focused tooling such as Stark, the A11y Annotation Kit, or comparable tools
- Ability to work collaboratively across design, accessibility program, and engineering teams; comfort operating in a cross-functional environment with distributed stakeholders
- Familiarity with enterprise or IT product design contexts is a plus; ServiceNow product knowledge is not required
